The Seasons Without You

1. In the Rain
We danced once
In first rain’s hush,
Your laughter bloomed
With every gush.
Now the monsoon
Washes me dry—
No green within,
No bloom, no sky.

2. In the Fall
Promises fell
Like brittle leaves,
And memory rustled
Through empty eaves.
I gathered pain
As though they'd grow,
Hoping spring
Might still bestow.

3. In the Cold
I search your eyes
In fog and mist,
My breath writes
Your name in twist.
But frozen fingers
Cannot trace
The warmth once held
In your embrace.

4. In the Bloom
With you,
The flowers danced in light.
Now they wither—
Colorless, white.
Yet fragrance clings
To moments past,
And every spring
Waits, steadfast.

5. In the Summer
Summer sun
But no cool shade,
The rooftop bare
Where we once stayed.
Fan still spins
Its lonely tune—
But you
Don't hum with the afternoon.

6. In the Night
The moon now hides
Your wistful face,
Stars sing songs
Of your embrace.
Sleep deserts me,
Dreams are few—
I stay awake
To remember you.

7. In Silence
I never asked
Why you withdrew—
Your silence
Held the answer true.
I never begged
You to return,
I just searched
Where your echoes burn.

8. And Still the Same
There was no vow
I made to life,
No wish to breathe
Without you beside.
But now,
Without you—
It strangely feels
As if you’ve never left my side.
