When You Were Here - 1

My heart longed for tears to stream,

Your memory—just a wistful dream.

The stars were silent, the world stood still,

Without you, nothing bends to will.

Even my breath now speaks no sound,

Each heartbeat echoes a grieving round.

The nights wear veils soaked in sorrow,

Sleep quarrels with my eyes till tomorrow.

Even moonlight questions my despair,

Why do rays feel empty where you’re not there?

Since you left, the world’s turned strange,

Every shadow lost, every thought estranged.

When you were here, my words had fire,

Now every verse feels cold, retired.

My eyes rebel against their lids,

Each dusk your name alone forbids.

Tunes lie hushed, melodies mourn,

Without you, every rhythm's torn.

Even now, in the echo of your goodbye,

My heart suspects each beat’s a lie.

I look in mirrors and see no trace—

You took with you my name, my face.

You were the scent that once did bloom,

Now I breathe, but only gloom.

Return—if just for one soft smile,

Or heal my silence, if only for a while.
