Since You’ve Been Gone - 3

Since you’ve been gone,

each season

feels betrayed.

Each evening

like a fallen star has strayed.

These clouds

keep whispering you,

each corner

breathes memories through.

Nights no longer

bring me sleep,

my pillow

holds the tears I weep.

Each raindrop

takes your face,

each shadow

replays our silent place.

The moon

refuses to rise on me,

in stars

your ghost is all I see.

In every word

your name hides deep,

and every day

I lose what I try to keep.

You're near,

yet so far to feel,

your silence

says what you don’t reveal.

These streets

refuse to walk with me,

your memories

wait where turns used to be.

How can I

forget your trace,

when you

still live in every space?

You were

the first light I knew,

and perhaps

the final truth too.

In my chest

your story hums,

and every beat

says, she never comes.
