When Souls First Spoke

Where did you come from?
Softly, you slipped into my breath.
And where was I from?
Somehow, I stayed within your heart.

How did our hearts find each other?
This bond, unnamed —
Made all names seem so small.

I hadn’t said a word.
Only our eyes spoke,
And they said everything.

That very first meeting —
Time stood still.
You smiled once,
And I began to live.

You came like the wind,
But stayed as fragrance
In every breath I took.

I hadn’t woven dreams,
Nor made any promises,
Yet your eyes
Showed me my future.

Without words,
We invented a language —
Each silence
Turned into a vow.

Nights now belong to you.
Even the moon
Seems lost in you.
When stars fall,
It feels like
Another wish whispered your name.

I never thought
That souls could meet
Without a call,
Without a path.

Your arrival
Completed a verse
That lived half in me.

Our meeting —
As if a thirst,
Centuries old,
Was finally quenched,
Drop by tender drop.

You weren’t someone I sought,
And I wasn’t searching —
Yet somehow…
We met.

Now, every breath
Spells your name.
Now, every silence
Echoes your steps.

What is this love
That we never touched,
Yet it touched
Every leaf and root
Of who we are?

We said nothing…
Yet everything
Was spoken
And understood.
