Eyes That Chose Me

In a hall so wide,

With a restless tide,

Hundreds near —

But you drew me clear.

One silent glance,

Changed every chance.

A smile, so shy —

The world passed by.

No words, no sound,

Just hearts unbound.

In that brief start,

You claimed my heart.

We met in shade,

Where soft love stayed.

Your beauty shone —

My soul felt home.

I held you tight,

Through every night.

Our lips would meet,

Our hearts repeat.

But envy came,

With silent flame.

They tore apart

Our beating heart.

No reason said,

Just tears we shed.

I walked alone,

My heart a stone.

Time moved on,

The years were gone.

But I still sought

The love I caught.

Through grey and pain,

Through sun and rain,

I searched your face

In every place.

And then one day,

So far away,

I found you there —

Still sweet, still fair.

You looked at me,

And I could see:

The spark, the flame —

Still just the same.

Now old, but true,

I live with you.

With hands held tight,

We breathe the light.

And till we part,

You are my heart.

The love we knew —

Forever true.
