I Long to Touch You - An Ode to the Imagined Beloved

I long to touch you—

To feel the warmth of your skin beneath my trembling fingertips.

To let your presence melt into mine,

Like morning light dissolving mist.

O my enchantress—my dream-woven muse,

Step down from the heavens of thought

Into this waiting world of breath and bone.

Don’t just dwell in my imagination—

Come, walk these waking streets with me.

I yearn to see you—

Not as a vision, but as form—alive, divine, real.

The metaphors I’ve offered you—

Those verses, those flowers of my reverence—

Let me now string them into jewels,

And adorn you with the poetry you’ve inspired.

Let me dress you,

Your golden, delicate form, with all that beauty deserves.

Let me sculpt your grace into moments,

Arrange you like dawn arranges the sky.

I want the world to see—

How beautiful you truly are.

You are the idol shaped from dreams,

The breath of my midnight prayers.

I want to embrace you—

Wrap you in the fervent cage of my arms,

Hold your silken wrists in my trembling hands,

And feel the heat of your breath

Like sunlight falling softly

On the bare curve of my shoulder.

I want to inhale your fragrance—

Let it settle into my breath,

Mingle with my soul

And bloom in the quietest corners of my being.

I want the rhythm of your heart

To echo in mine,

To beat a chorus only we can hear—

A secret song of skin and soul.

Those lips—so long I’ve called them petals—

Let me finally kiss their truth.

Let my longing find its rest

In the softness of your sigh.

Let me lose myself in the shadows of your hair,

Like a wanderer in the forest at dusk—

Grateful to be lost.

All these desires, these sensations,

I have folded into silent moments,

Wrapped in memory and imagination,

Never lived, only dreamed—

But now I ache to breathe them into life.

O my beloved—

Come, just once, step beyond the veil of vision,

Into the tenderness of my reality.

I long to touch you—

To hold not just the thought of you,

But **you**.
